Regions

Help to prepare an expedition, determinate lamiines collected in a region, contribute to the knowledge of regional fauna and Lamiinae of World.

For more comprehensive knowledge

First of all, a lamiine without locality or provenance region has no scientific interest.

Knowing the provenance region facilitates the identification among known species of the region, or those of neighboring or affine regions. All information about unknown or little known species contributes to the knowledge of Lamiinae, Cerambycidae, Coleoptera...

According to several viewpoints

World is splited at 3 scales or levels of region.

Level-1 provides 2 overviews.
First is a geographical model to facilitate access to regional fauna.
The other is biogeographic to analyze the distribution of species and compare fauna.

At level-2, the regions are faunistically homogeneous entities (e.g. Borneo), then countries if possible.

Level-3 allows a complementary subdivision of a country into provinces, or an archipelago into islands for example.
