S. Breuning is the author of the original taxon.

The type specimen used for original description is cited from R. D. Congo.

Pterolophia (Pterolophia) albovariegata Breuning, 1938 is the full name of the group-species in the taxonomic classification system.

The species divided into 2 subspecies, is combined with the Pterolophia genus ranked in the Pteropliini tribe of Lamiinae.
