The type specimen used for original description is cited from Tonkin.

Glenea (Glenea) pseudoscalaris (Fairmaire, 1895) is the full name of the group-species in the taxonomic classification system.

The species divided into 2 subspecies, is combined with the Glenea genus ranked in the Saperdini tribe of Lamiinae.
