L. Fairmaire is the author of the original taxon.
Leiopus (Leiopus) femoratus Fairmaire, 1859 is the full name of the group-species in the taxonomic classification system.
The species is combined with the Leiopus genus ranked in the Acanthocinini tribe of Lamiinae.
