The type specimen used for original description is cited from Kuilu.

Glenea (Glenea) puella assimilis Jordan, 1894 is the full name of the group-subspecies in the taxonomic classification system.

The group is a subdivision of Glenea puella, species combined with the Glenea genus ranked in the Saperdini tribe of Lamiinae.
