The type specimen used for original description is cited from Angola.

Glenea (Glenea) ossifera ossifera Jordan, 1894 is the full name of the group-subspecies in the taxonomic classification system.

The group is the nominal subdivision of Glenea ossifera, species combined with the Glenea genus ranked in the Saperdini tribe of Lamiinae.
