The type specimen used for original description comes from Sulawesi, Tondano.

Bacchisa (Bacchisa) annulicornis (Pascoe, 1867) is the full name of the group-species in the taxonomic classification system.

The species is combined with the Bacchisa genus ranked in the Astathini tribe of Lamiinae.
