The type specimen used for original description is cited from Kirghizistan.

Tetrops (Mimosophronica) formosus formosus Baeckmann, 1903 is the full name of the group-subspecies in the taxonomic classification system.

The group is the nominal subdivision of Tetrops formosus, species combined with the Tetrops genus ranked in the Tetropini tribe of Lamiinae.
