The type specimen used for original description comes from Raja Ampat Is., Saylee.

Serixia (Serixia) palliata (Pascoe, 1867) is the full name of the group-species in the taxonomic classification system.

The species is combined with the Serixia genus ranked in the Saperdini tribe of Lamiinae.
