P. Teocchi is the author of the original taxon.

The type specimen used for original description comes from Erithrea.

Pseudoparaphloeus scorteccii erytreensis (Teocchi, 1992) is the full name of the group-subspecies in the taxonomic classification system.

The group is a subdivision of Pseudoparaphloeus scorteccii, species combined with the Pseudoparaphloeus genus ranked in the Ancylonotini tribe of Lamiinae.
