Phryneta luctuosa luctuosa Murray, 1870 is the full name of the group-subspecies in the taxonomic classification system.

The group is the nominal subdivision of Phryneta luctuosa, species combined with the Phryneta genus ranked in the Phrynetini tribe of Lamiinae.
