The type specimen used for original description comes from R. P. Congo, Kuilu.

Monoxenus (Dityloderus) bufoides (Jordan, 1894) is the full name of the group-species in the taxonomic classification system.

The species is combined with the Monoxenus genus ranked in the Morimopsini tribe of Lamiinae.
