L.A. Chevrolat is the author of the original taxon.
The type specimen used for original description is cited from Vieux Calabar.
Glenea (Glenea) puella puella Chevrolat, 1858 is the full name of the group-subspecies in the taxonomic classification system.
The group is the nominal subdivision of Glenea puella, species combined with the Glenea genus ranked in the Saperdini tribe of Lamiinae.
