The type specimen used for original description is cited from Sumbawa.

Glenea (Glenea) dimidiata sumbavana Aurivillius, 1925 is the full name of the group-subspecies in the taxonomic classification system.

The group is a subdivision of Glenea dimidiata, species combined with the Glenea genus ranked in the Saperdini tribe of Lamiinae.
