The type specimen used for original description is cited from Italy.

Agapanthia (Epoptes) asphodeli lopadusae Rapuzzi & Sparacio, 2017 is the full name of the group-subspecies in the taxonomic classification system.

The group is a subdivision of Agapanthia asphodeli, species combined with the Agapanthia genus ranked in the AGAPANTHIINI tribe of Lamiinae.
