The type specimen used for original description is cited from Transcaucasia.

Tetrops (Tetrops) gilvipes gilvipes (Faldermann, 1837) is the full name of the group-subspecies in the taxonomic classification system.

The group is the nominal subdivision of Tetrops gilvipes, species combined with the Tetrops genus ranked in the Tetropini tribe of Lamiinae.
