The type specimen used for original description comes from Crimea.

Tetrops (Tetrops) gilvipes efetovi Lazarev, 2012 is the full name of the group-subspecies in the taxonomic classification system.

The group is a subdivision of Tetrops gilvipes, species combined with the Tetrops genus ranked in the Tetropini tribe of Lamiinae.
