The type specimen used for original description comes from Malayan Peninsula, West Malaysia.

Stibara (Stibara) humeralis Thomson, 1865 is the full name of the group-species in the taxonomic classification system.

The species is combined with the Stibara genus ranked in the Saperdini tribe of Lamiinae.
