The type specimen used for original description comes from Brazil, Mato Grosso.

Psapharochrus (Psapharochrus) binocularis (Martins, 1981) is the full name of the group-species in the taxonomic classification system.

The species is combined with the Psapharochrus genus ranked in the Acanthoderini tribe of Lamiinae.
