The type specimen used for original description is cited from Tanzania.

Neopachystola erinacea (Jordan, 1894) is the full name of the group-species in the taxonomic classification system.

The species divided into 2 subspecies, is combined with the Neopachystola genus ranked in the Neopachystolini tribe of Lamiinae.
