The type specimen used for original description is cited from Nigeria.

Monochamus (Camochamus) camerunensis flavomarginalis (Dillon & Dillon, 1959) is the full name of the group-subspecies in the taxonomic classification system.

The group is a subdivision of Monochamus camerunensis, species combined with the Monochamus genus ranked in the Lamiini tribe of Lamiinae.
