G. Kraatz is the author of the original taxon.

Leiopus (Leiopus) albivittis albivittis (Kraatz, 1879) is the full name of the group-subspecies in the taxonomic classification system.

The group is the nominate subdivision of Leiopus albivittis, species combined with the Leiopus genus ranked in the Acanthocinini tribe of Lamiinae.
