The type specimen used for original description comes from Madagascar.

Graciella compacta marmorata Fairmaire, 1897 is the full name of the group-subspecies in the taxonomic classification system.

The group is a subdivision of Graciella compacta, species combined with the Graciella genus ranked in the Tragocephalini tribe of Lamiinae.
