The type specimen used for original description comes from Taiwan.

Glenea (Lobunguiglenea) judsoni Lin & Tavakilian, 2014 is the full name of the group-species in the taxonomic classification system.

The species is combined with the Glenea genus ranked in the Saperdini tribe of Lamiinae.
