R. Kh. Kadyrbekov is the author of the original taxon.

The type specimen used for original description comes from Kazakhstan, Asian Kazakhstan.

Dorcadion (Acutodorcadion) absinthium ishkovi Kadyrbekov, 2004 is the full name of the group-subspecies in the taxonomic classification system.

The group is a subdivision of Dorcadion absinthium, species combined with the Dorcadion genus ranked in the Dorcadiini tribe of Lamiinae.
