The type specimen used for original description comes from Cameroon.

Bangalaia sulcicollis camerunica Breuning, 1974 is the full name of the group-subspecies in the taxonomic classification system.

The group is a subdivision of Bangalaia sulcicollis, species combined with the Bangalaia genus ranked in the Prosopocerini tribe of Lamiinae.
