The type specimen used for original description comes from Bhutan.

Acalolepta (Acalolepta) sikkimensis nigrina Breuning, 1975 is the full name of the group-subspecies in the taxonomic classification system.

The group is a subdivision of Acalolepta sikkimensis, species combined with the Acalolepta genus ranked in the Lamiini tribe of Lamiinae.
