The type specimen used for original description comes from Brazil, São Paulo.

Aegomorphus geminus (Galileo & Martins, 2012) is the full name of the group-species in the taxonomic classification system.

The species is combined with the Aegomorphus genus ranked in the Acanthoderini tribe of Lamiinae.
